Community Investment Plan and Policy
Giving back to the community is the way we do business.
The Kudu Industries Inc. Community Investment Plan and Policy is designed to fulfill the following goals:
- To encourage education and participation in educational activities in the communities where Kudu employees and our customers work and live,
- To participate in the educational development of a community,
- To encourage students to stay in school and study the sciences.
Kudu’s priorities of the Community Investment Plan and Policy are to participate with integrity and purpose. We want to develop a sponsorship plan which compliments Kudu’s core competency while strengthening the communities where our employees work and live.
A component of the Kudu Community Investment Plan is the Kudu High School Scholarship. Implemented in 2002, the goal of the plan is to encourage youth by supporting educational scholarships and non-profit groups with an educational mandate. Through our Community Investment Program we hope to promote education thereby building a stronger community for our employees and customers.
The program is directed to the rural communities where Kudu has field offices. The Kudu High School Scholarship Program includes the communities of Brooks, Sedgewick, Elk Point, Provost, Lloydminster, Slavelake , Taber, Kindersley and Estevan. In 2006, the program will expand to include Bonnyville and Wabasca. In each community, $500 is awarded to both a male and a female student, who have achieved the highest marks their final year of study and are enrolled in a full-time science based program in college and university.
If we can foster a better community by promoting education, the residents will benefit and so will Kudu. Kudu considers participating in education as a component of our business strategy.
