Tough Coat™
KUDU’s Tough Coat is a revolutionary spray metal coating applied to Progressing Cavity Pump rotors. A Tough Coat rotor provides significantly improved resistance to corrosion and abrasion compared to a typical chrome rotor. The result is longer rotor life, increased production efficiency and lower operating costs.

PROVEN PERFORMANCE
Tough Coat is proven for light, medium and heavy oil applications. In comparison to a chrome rotor, the Tough Coat prolongs rotor life in adverse conditions and continually achieves high production rates. The Tough Coat vs. Chrome chart below shows three consecutive rotor runs in the same well at 195 RPM. The first two chrome rotors lasted 748 and 953 days with pump efficiency continuously dropping. The Tough Coat rotor operated at 83% efficiency after 1200 days. With Tough Coat, pump efficiencies remain high resulting in greater performance and increased well revenue.

CORROSIVE ENVIRONMENTS
Tough Coat rotors prolong pump life, lower operating costs and resist abrasives. A Tough Coat rotor does not weaken or wear in high corrosive environments, which is typical of chrome rotors. The result is two fold; increased oil production and improved pump life.

NO CORROSIVES, NO PROBLEM
Tough Coat is used in environments with no corrosive or abrasive characteristics. In one application a Tough Coat rotor continued to produce at 99% efficiency in a light oil, Dina zone well.
