A horizontal oil well producing from the Bakken zone in Saskatchewan’s Court heavy oil field had experienced extreme production difficulties primarily caused by sand and inflow issues. The well ex- perienced four pump changes within six months in early 2008 resulting in an operational cost of $198,000.
