New TechnologyKudu’s Coiled Tubing is one of the industries first coiled tubing deployed progressing cavity pumping systems. More commonly used for well stimulations, sand cleanouts and drilling operations, coiled tubing is also ideal as a driverod to a PC pump. Coiled tubing can be used as a drive string on a producing PC pump because the continuous hollow shaft is perfectly suited to transmitting torque. Torque is transmitted by the outside diameter of a shaft, not the interior, and therefore, the interior can be hollow without compromising strength. In high torque rod driven wells it is possible to increase production volume by using the inner diameter of drive rod. The coiled tubing acts as a drive for the progressing cavity pump and also a conduit for the fluid. No conventional tubing rods are required.
