FEATURED PRODUCT
WELL OPTIMIZATION
KUDU’s PCP Well Manager maximizes your production through smart well technology. It reacts specifically to your Progressing Cavity Pump operation by adjusting pump speed, monitoring torque and measuring flow rates. Now is the perfect time to start optimizing current wells. The PCP Well Manager is the solution for superior well performance.
TOUGH COAT™
Tough Coat is a revolutionary spray metal coating applied to PCP rotors using advanced proprietary technology. Tough Coat rotors provide significantly improved resistance to corrosion and abrasion compared to the industry practice of electroplating chrome. The result is longer rotor life with less degradation and efficiency over time. The benefits are lower operating expenses and higher production.
HIGH TEMPERATURE PACKAGE
The global unconventional oil market has an estimated 4,600 billion barrels of oil with probable reserves ranging from 500 to 1,000 billion barrels. The majority of these reserves are found in the Athabasca region in Northern Alberta. Due to extreme viscosity, extracting heavy oils at reservoir temperature is difficult to impossible.
Thermal processes such as Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) and Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS) make it possible to produce highly viscous crudes by heating up the oil for extraction. The artificial lift used to pump the oil is critical to the overall functioning and efficiency of the well. The standard elastomer technology has an operating temperature limit around 160°C, far below thermal production requirements. A new technology called the PCM Vulcain™ is based on a completely metal pump and pushes the temperature limit to 350°C.
NPCP
The NPCP is composed of a Progressing Cavity Pump (PCP) and a system of hydraulic regulators installed inside the pump in between the cavities. The hydraulic regulators are self regulated devices that re-circulate the fluid between the cavities in order to control the pump thermo-hydraulic response. The regulators also avoid excessive heat build up, which might result in premature failure of the pump’s stator.
It is common knowledge that the traditional PCP has shown significant problems when dealing with multiphase mixtures, with high gas void fraction. The NPCP has enhanced performance in these types of conditions as it uniforms the pressure across the pump length, which stabilizes the temperature. It also compensates the compressed gas volume of progressing cavities and protects the stator for improved pump performance.
TOP TAG
KUDU’s patent pending Top Tag System allows the user to locate the rotor inside the stator without using a tag bar. The Top Tag System also enables a paddled rotor to directly agitate the fluid within the casing rather than being limited to the fluid entering the tag bar.
Benefits of eliminating the tag bar:
- No restrictions on intake
- Increase fillage, intake and production
- Decrease the change of plugging off
- Reduce occurrences of burnt pumps
- Maintain the ability to coil past the rotor
